Is A Government Handout a Good Idea?

I am no economist. I am, however, a proud conservative. One of the pillars of conservatism, in my opinion, is not looking to the federal government to solve all issues.

So I have to ask, is President Bush’s plan to hand out cash to Americans a good idea to stimulate the economy? Since when do Republicans look to Government handouts to solve problems?

Don’t get me wrong, I will gladly cash the check if sent, but is this putting a band aide on a severed arm?

There should be some limit to what you can purchase or invest in.

Couldnt they have thought of something else? Certificates of deposit... government bonds or anything besides hard cash.
